COVID vaccinations

The Public Health and Social Measure linked to vaccination Direction was revoked on 14 April 2022, ending the requirement to check-in and to be fully vaccinated in a range of venues and events.  More information can be found on the Public Health and Social Measures linked to Vaccination Status page on the Queensland Government website.

COVID management plan

We will adopt all recommendations from the venue and the government for reducing the risk of spread of COVID.  At present, and subject to change, the COVID management plan is as follows:

  • People with COVID symptoms must not enter the venue, and should advise the organising committee of any concerns during the conference
  • Hand sanitiser will be provided
  • Mask wearing is your choice whilst seated and listening to conference talks, but is not mandatory

Due to the above measures, the risk of catching COVID at the conference is regarded as low however we encourage members to take their personal health situation into consideration when deciding whether to attend the conference. The Mantra have been running conferences back-to-back since the QLD borders opened on 17 December 2021 and to their knowledge haven’t had any COVID outbreaks or transmission.

Please refer to this page prior to the conference to be updated on the latest COVID management plan.

Conference refund policy

The organising committee reassures registrants that contingency plans have been developed to address the fluid COVID situation.  If a government directed COVID restriction is enforced for the conference date and the event cannot proceed, any monies held will be carried over for a postponed event for up to 12 months from the original event date, allowing BirdLife Photography to reschedule the conference to a future date.  Should such a situation arise, and the rescheduled conference date finds attendees unable to attend, refunds will be considered on a case-by-case basis.  As government enforced COVID restrictions remain fluid, we encourage attendees to book flights and accommodations which allow flexibility.

Otherwise, the following refund policy applies:

– 90% refund for more than 28 days notice
– 50% refund for between 2-4 weeks notice
– No refund for less than 2 weeks notice.

Alternatively, if you wish to donate your ticket to a student please contact our organising committee, registrations@blpbc.birdlifephotography.org.au
