KIM WORMALD

Kim Wormald - Birdlife Photography Biennial Conference 2022
Kim Wormald

Kim Wormald (EFIAPg, GMAPS) is a lifelong bird watcher with a deep love of, and respect for, nature. She enjoys photographing wild, unbaited birds in natural light. Kim’s images have received numerous national and international awards including as a three time finalist in the Australian Geographic Nature Photographer of the Year and in the 2021 Birdlife Photography Awards. She has judged at state, national and international levels and often presents to camera clubs and environmental groups. Kim is especially pleased when her images are used for conservation purposes to highlight the beauty and vulnerability of our natural world.

Wildlife and Wellbeing

Much has been written about nature and how it has helped people cope with lockdowns. This presentation will share how Kim engages with bird photography to enhance her own wellbeing, including how she combines her choice of equipment, fieldcraft, ethics, processing and image use to gain intrinsic rewards and international awards.
